There is nothing more Israeli than falafel, just as there is nothing more Israeli than the years-long dispute over where the tastiest falafel can be found — in Jerusalem, of course (where else?). But there’s no easy decision here, either. Join us on a mission of national importance: to locate Jerusalem’s best falafel. We don’t promise that you’ll find a definite answer, but we do promise that you’ll enjoy the quest!
We will start with the falafel shops of Mahane Yehuda and go on to the Ben Yehuda pedestrian mall. Along the way, we will taste falafel with loads of pepper (just like in the old Israeli song, “And we’ve got falafel,” goes) and hear the special story of the deep-fried chickpea ball that became Israel’s national food. We will pick up some recipes, and in the end we will decide for ourselves who wins the competition.
The event includes
- guided tour
- A taste of falafel at “Moola”
- A taste of the “Levi Brothers” Falafel
- A taste of “Shalom” Falafel
- A taste of the “falafel king”
- A taste of falafel “Moshik”
- Perfect falafel tips and recipes
General Notes
- Comfortable shoes are recommended
- Photography: Tomer Foltyn
- The tour with Tamar Shilo will be held in English
